Update: Augusta girl safe following Amber Alert
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland announced in an email at 5:38 p.m. Tuesday, 3-year-old Lenore Wilson, for whom an Amber Alert had been issued earlier Tuesday, is safe. She was brought into the Augusta Police Department, the email states.

State police, working with Augusta police, have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 3-year old Augusta girl, who is in the company of a Augusta woman. The missing girl is Lenore Wilson, who is 30 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds with blond hair.
Police said she is with Fatima Gissentaner, who goes by the nickname of China. Gissentaner, 26, is a tall, slender, black woman, who occasionally cares for the child. The two were last at an apartment house at 26 Sewall Street in Augusta during the night, when police and EMS were called to tend to a medical emergency of the child’s mother, who was taken to the hospital. China also may be in the company of her boyfriend, who goes by the street name “Dollar.” Both are from New York. There is no information on whether the couple has access to a vehicle.
