Learn basic yet effective massage techniques that can be applied to friends and family for general relaxation and stress relief by registering for the Central Lincoln County Adult Education course Therapeutic Massage Essentials beginning Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Nobleboro Central School.

The course will be delivered in six 90-minute evening sessions with “hands-on” concentration on one part of the body each evening. The hands and feet, neck and shoulders, and the back will be addressed. Each class will include discussion of the pertinent anatomy, specific massage techniques and general guidelines for giving massage. Also, time will be spent examining some of the routine causes of the most common muscle tension and consideration for how to mitigate them. Students are welcome in two-person teams or as solo learners who will practice with another course participant.

Instructor, Joel Oyer, LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) owns and operates Big Toe Bodyworks, llc, in Damariscotta. He offers Swedish and Deep Tissue massage, Shiatsu and Reiki.
