14th year for Winter Physical Activity Challenge
Join us! LincolnHealth and 5-2-1-0 Let’s Go! Lincoln County, along with local non-profits, schools and others, are supporting the 14th annual Winter Physical Activity Challenge. Last year it was “Paddlin’ to Poland” and this year we are “Dashing to Denmark”.
Between 700 to 900 adults, young adults and children participate each year. Won’t you join us this year?
This Winter Challenge is a seven-week event in which participants are physically active at least 30 minutes, four times a week or an equivalent amount of time in order to reach the goal of “traveling” to a distant location. Exercise enough to get to Denmark or enough to return to Maine. It’s up to you.
Exercise by yourself, or get a team together and exercise with friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. The winter months in Maine are long so this program encourages individuals and teams in the community to get active and have fun!
The challenge will run from Jan. 9 to Feb. 24, 2017, and many indoor locations will be made available again this year for participants to walk safely for free.
Registration is required to participate. Cost for adults is $3 per person, and young adults and children 17 years and younger cost $1 person. A special group rate is available for schools, childcare and after school sites. We welcome everyone’s participation.
For registration forms and any questions, please contact LincolnHealth Education Department at 563-4540 or email kristina.verney@lchcare.org. Registrations are due Wednesday, Jan. 4.
