Deadline approaching for winter CNA class
LincolnHealth is accepting applications for the winter Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course through Dec. 1 and the class begins Jan. 9, 2018.
This free, ten-week course trains students to become CNAs. CNAs are caregivers who work directly with patients and residents to assist them with daily needs and make them feel safe and comfortable. They may work in long term care, assisted living, memory care, and skilled rehabilitation nursing facilities or in a hospital setting.
Accepted students may also apply for the Apprenticeship Program which allows students to be paid while they learn. Apprentice CNAs commit to working at long-term care facilities affiliated with LincolnHealth for 18 months following graduation. The Apprenticeship Program is available to select students as funds are available.
Although acceptance into the apprenticeship program does not guarantee employment after graduation, every effort is made to place graduates in jobs based on staffing needs and the apprentice’s qualifications.
Class size is limited and classes are held three days a week for 10 weeks.
