I am thankful for my family and friends every day of the year but on this Thanksgiving week, I would like to thank some other people (some are friends, too!) who contribute very much to getting this newspaper out each week and who don’t always get my/our acknowledgment.

Thank you to our advertisers. Without you, we would be in another line of work. Weekly newspapers depend on their advertisers to help pay the bills and we are lucky that most of you do advertise your goods and services through us. Please keep it up.

Thank you to our columnists. You provide news and information that our small staff isn’t able to secure on a weekly basis. We appreciate getting information from area columnists, school, nonprofit and business publicists, public organizations and others.

Thank you to people who provide us with news tips. We spend a lot of our time writing, attending meetings and researching information but every once in a while, we do get out of the office and someone will provide us with news to follow up on.

Thank you to people who submit photos and information for photo/cutline layouts, especially those submissions which recognize the good things our friends and neighbors accomplish. Again, our staff can’t be everywhere.

Speaking of staff, I would like to thank my assistant editors, reporters and news contributors for another great year. You put your words and photos out there for all to see on a weekly (daily, with the websites) basis. Sometimes we make mistakes, but we are always willing to correct those mistakes and get the correct information to the public.
