The First Congregational Church of Wiscasset will be sponsoring a community discussion on child abuse, local statistics, prevention and how the community can help.

Guest speaker Leslie Livingston, executive director of Healthy Kids, will be facilitating the conversation. Ms. Livingston has a master’s degree in family studies and has worked in the child abuse prevention arena for 25 years. Healthy Kids is the child abuse prevention agency serving Lincoln County. Healthy Kids has many programs supporting parents, families, professionals and children. Its programs include personalized home visiting, parenting classes, health classes in the high schools, playgroups, father’s groups and professional workshops.

The event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset’s Fellowship Hall located next to the Lincoln County Courthouse. The public is encouraged to attend and learn about this valuable organization.
