As a result of the continued investigation into the March 9 shooting on Clark’s Cove Road in Walpole, Angela Lemire, 39, of Walpole was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Violence Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon Class C and Aggravated Assault Class B, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reported on its Facebook page Sunday.

The victim was allegedly shot by Lemire using a handgun; the victim was treated at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta and Maine Medical Center in Portland for a non-life threatening injury, the post states. The victim has been released from the hospital.

Lemire was taken into custody March 11 in Brunswick by Detective Jared Mitkus and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. “Due to the nature of the crimes Lemire is being held without bail pending appearance before the courts. Lemire is expected to appear in court this week,” the post states.

The Wiscasset Newspaper is not naming the victim at this time to protect their privacy as a victim of an alleged domestic violence offense.
