Bump
Have you seen the signs around our towns?
Bump.
There are more bumps, or frost heaves, than signs, but any warning beats none.
If you slow down, you can avoid your back hatch coming open or other consequences. And through it all, remember the bumps and signs are a sign of very good news: It's spring.
Now even the calendar agrees. Punxsutawney Phil and I pushed early for it. But winter, true to form, gave up hard. It may not even be done with us. But now that it’s official, we are done with it.
Onto Red Sox, Seadogs and their Wiscasset Wolverine counterparts. Play ball, win or bring the dust up trying. Hello, short sleeves, tweets in the trees, and Red’s Eats’ and Big Al’s reopenings and all the other commerce that returns to life. For those who stayed open for just us locals, thank you. And may the warm months be good ones for all, just enough rain for the hay and other crops, and all the rest sun and a light breeze.
Put away the skis, snowmobiles and plows. If you like them, then wish for April snow. It's not unheard of. I’ll be right there, giving it a look to go away.
This week’s positive parting thought: After spring, comes summer!
Bump.
