The State Fire Marshal's Office says last weekend's fatal fire in Boothbay was caused by a child playing with matches, according to Public Safety spokesperson Steve McCausland. Investigators say the couch in the living room caught fire and the fire quickly spread throughout the two story house. Investigators say no charges are planned because of the child's age, and the child will be referred to counseling. Investigators say the home had three working smoke detectors. Two men died in the Sunday morning fire and the four other occupants were all injured.
