Civil War Encampment comes to Boothbay Railway Village Museum
A full Civil War living history encampment will be open to the public on the grounds of the Boothbay Railway Village Museum on Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 27 {museum admission required}. Maine’s largest Civil War living history organization the 3rd Maine Infantry will feature demonstrations, musket and cannon firing, as well as small skirmish scenarios.
Other living history demonstrations include women’s clothing during the war, Civil War medicine and camp cooking. The 3rd Maine has been reenacting the Civil War for decades and offers multiple impressions and opportunities for interaction.
The event will be open to the public from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday. A complete schedule of events is available at RailwayVillage.org and at the event.
Museum Admission: $15 Adults 18-64; $8 Children 3-17; $12 Adults 65 plus years old; Under 3 Free. Free for Museum Members, Maine Foster Families, with IDs and Active Duty Military Families, with IDs.
