Diabetes Support Group meeting March 28
LincolnHealth Occupational Therapist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist Megan McCartney will present how diabetes can impact your brain at the Diabetes Support Group meeting on Thursday, March 28, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. The group will meet in the Diabetes Education Room on the third floor of the hospital on the LincolnHealth-Miles Campus in Damariscotta.
McCartney will explain why dementia is sometimes called "Type 3 Diabetes" as well as steps you can take to control your risk of developing cognitive issues and how to make healthy lifestyle choices to protect your brain.
The LincolnHealth Diabetes Support Group meets every other month on the fourth Thursday to allow participants to share experiences and to know that they do not have to deal with diabetes alone.
