Eldon Reid Hodgdon, age 78, of Boothbay Harbor, Maine passed away July 12, 2022 at his home with loved ones by his side.

Born Jan. 26, 1944 in Boothbay Harbor to Elden and Clara (Greenleaf) Hodgdon, Reid attended local schools, graduated from Wiscasset High School, and then served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong resident of the Boothbay Harbor region where he spent the remainder of his life working on the water. A well-known fixture in town most people knew Reid over the years. He was active in the local Community Center and a member of the Knights of Pythias where he was a common fixture at their weekly cribbage tournaments.

Reid is survived by his son Christopher Hodgdon; daughter-in-law Becky Gauthier; grandson Noah Hodgdon; brother Sheldon “Teddy” Hodgdon; and sister Candace “Candy” Bailey.

He was predeceased by his brother Neil Hodgdon.

A celebration of life will be held for Reid at the Knight of Pythias Hall, 64 Lakeside Drive, Boothbay Harbor on Sept. 24, 1-3 p.m.
