Exciting times
Some weeks, we are practically singing with good news online and on these pages; and this week, some of it is ours.
On our websites, Facebook and now on our front page of this week’s print edition, we’ve been premiering our websites' new design. The look and what you find where, including important coverage of ongoing local issues, as in our “spotlight” stories, keep us current with your needs in an evolving news and internet world.
On another happy front, you may have noticed we’ve been rolling out more of the people stories you've said you like: People who love and are our towns. Who will it be next? We can't wait.
But enough about us.
Wiscasset is making strides in cleaning up the Mason Station area; people haven't stopped stopping in Wiscasset despite all the barrels; and some of the region's best known and longest running summer events have been pulling off good weather. Let's hope it continues for First Congregational Church of Wiscasset's Summerfest July 27 and more.
Recycling is changing in our towns. But like everything else, from marijuana rules to economic planning, townspeople and officials will keep on keeping on and it will all sort out. The environment and possibly our pocketbooks could be better for it, as we think more about trash's makeup and consequences, and buy that way.
Week's positive parting thought: Summer turns one month old next week. Two thirds to go, it is still just beginning!
