Fun fall season planned at BRVM
The Boothbay Railway Village Museum has a full schedule of community inspired events this month, beginning with Family Harvest Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 5: A family-favorite fall tradition featuring hayrides to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, barrel rides, face painting, train rides, games on the green, and arts and crafts hosted by special guests, Boothbay Sea and Science Center.
Reduced museum admission all day: adults/$10, children 3-17/$5; under 3’s are free. Train rides (included with admission): 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Take a hayride to the pumpkin patch and find your very own pumpkin to bring home. Pumpkin Pass $5.
Shannon’s Unshelled Food Truck is on site all day.
The 56th annual Fall Foliage Festival weekend is Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 – rain or shine. Featured are 80+ artisans and makers, a delicious variety of handcrafted foods, fall inspired adult beverages, a full line up of Maine musicians, and lots more!
Event hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 per person – free for kids 5. Entry fee also includes full admission to the museum’s 35 acres of exhibits, antique autos and model railroad. Steam train rides are an additional $5 (train rides are free to members).
The festival is a joint fundraiser, and proceeds benefit the Boothbay Railway Village Museum and the Boothbay Region Information Center.

The popular Railway SPOOKtacular returns Halloween weekend on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. $10 for ages 4 and up, free for children 3 and under; $5 for members. Kids of all ages show off their costumes in exchange for treats! Reduced museum admission includes trick or treat tables, carnival games on the green, barrel rides, train rides, arts and crafts, and more! Attendees are encouraged to bring trick or treat bags.
SPOOKtacular festivities conclude at 2 p.m., train rides continue until 4 p.m. More information on all events can be found at RailwayVillage.org.
