Way to go, Wiscasset student-athletes for joining Boothbay Region High School’s cross-country roster. As we’ve maintained here before, the two high schools working together can help both. For the students and parents committing to it, thank you. You are part of helping sustain the towns’ sports for hopefully many more years.  

And way to go once more, this one for the Wolverine girls finding a tie and a win among their games at last weekend’s soccer tournament in Richmond. May it foretell a strong season. No matter how the numbers rack up, you are playing and competing and are gaining teamwork and other skills to serve you long term, just like your classroom and community service learning. Have a healthy season and best of luck. We may not see the Red Sox in the playoffs, but we could have some Wolverine magic to cheer for this fall. 

About the Sox, at press time I hadn’t given up completely on their chances. Yes, I’m the one.  

But math hasn’t been my strong suit in a long time. 

You can do it, Sox. Everyone else could go on a losing streak and, if you could just win more consistently, the wild card could be yours. Just try really hard. And have better luck, and who knows?
