Ruth A. Sasala
Ruth A. (Hilton) Sasala, 84, of New Milford, Connecticut, passed away on Aug. 27, 2022, after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.
She was born on June 10, 1938, to Harold and Kathryn (Larsen) Hilton in Camden, New Jersey. She had the opportunity to live in many places throughout her life including 22 years in Edgecomb, Maine, and six years in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Ruth was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother and was an incredibly sweet-spirited person that everyone wanted to be around. Throughout her years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, collecting and selling antiques, needlework, and knitting; but her favorite time was spent with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Theodore Sasala; her parents; her brother, Gerald Hilton and several brothers-in-law as well as a sister-in-law.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Kathryn L. Feely, and her husband, Michael D. Feely as well as her granddaughter, Heather K. Feely all of New Milford, Connecticut. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Patricia Hilton of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and Lynn Sasala of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania as well as her brother-in-law Joseph Sasala (Lisa) of Zelienople, Pennsylvania. Ruth is also survived by many special nieces and nephews as well as many cousins. She also leaves behind many dear friends from Edgecomb and Williamsburg as well as several lifelong friendships.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut for the comfort and care that they provide Ruth as well as her family.
Burial will take place on Friday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Athearn Cemetery, located at 115 Starks Road, Anson, Maine.
