Snowmobiles, a groundhog and a very Brady mystery
A newsletter Wiscasset Newspaper and Boothbay Register got via email Jan. 30 from Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry said Feb. 8-17 is Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week. That friend would not be me. But if you have any takers, please check out the safety tips in the newsletter at content.govdelivery.com/accounts/MEDACF/bulletins/2790dd0
Some of the nicest people snowmobile. I don’t get it, but to each his own.
At press time, our stretch of milder weather that impacted snowmobiling, ended snowmen and took just a little away from Winterfest, was about to give way to the thick of winter. Forecasts for storms have been off of late, but the third time in three weeks looked like it would be the charm.
If you, like me, do not relish the thought of white sky and wind chill, fear not: Punxsutawney Phil failed to see his shadow again this year, all but guaranteeing an early spring.
Week’s positive parting thought: Depending on your take on a Super Bowl ad, Tom Brady will stay a Patriot. I never thought Brady was leaving, anyway, but the speculation grew so loud, it fed off itself and grew infectious.
Then I started to wonder, would he? Will he? Apparently not, right? Stay, Tom, stay.
