OK, Rick Charette, you're going to get what you love. Charette, Maine's longtime children's singer-songwriter, wrote the popular song, "I Love Mud." Well, maybe he doesn't love mud but we are definitely going to get more mud, thanks to the snow on Monday and Tuesday (and predicted snow and rain on Wednesday).

And like one of the verses in the song says, "I can't go around it/I've got to go through it," I expect to go about axle deep sometime in the coming days as my driveway will be a quagmire. We almost made it through the winter without the cars (*I must alert the oil delivery man this week!) being bogged down, but, I am afraid mud season II will soon be upon us.

Thanks to those who responded to our new photo gallery feature, "Seeing: Red." As of Tuesday night, we nearly filled the gallery with the 100 photos – the number limit on our galleries. We will come up with a new "Seeing:" topic in a week or two. In the meantime, if you haven't viewed the gallery online, take a look. There are some great photos, especially of red flowers.

The NCAA men's basketball tournament, "March Madness," during the past few weeks was a lot of fun to watch. There weren't a lot of buzzer beaters, but there were plenty of close games. The Final Four games in both the men's and women's tournaments — if you're an avid basketball fan — had to be some of the best games I've watched in a few years.

And congratulations to the Virginia Cavaliers. After being seeded number 1 in their region last year and being the first number 1 ever to lose to a 16 seed, the Cavs certainly redeemed themselves 12 months later by winning the championship.
