Three things
Family reunions are the best. At least in my family they are. I have a huge family. There were 55 of us – dads, mothers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, significant others, girlfriends, boyfriends, in-laws, etc. – gathered on Southport on Sunday afternoon. Food, drinks, games, sunshine and lots of laughs. And there were many more who couldn't make it. It harkened back to the big family reunion we had in Falmouth with my mother's side of the family – the Lorrains/Halligans – when I was just a pre-teen. Hopefully, the young ones at this year's reunion will remember the fun time they had when they are my age.
Do you like the look of our new website? Let us know if we can improve it in any way. After seven years, we decided on changing up the look. From the standpoint of being one of the people who feeds the stories into the site, I find it less crowded and easier to read. And I like the wider format and how it looks on phones. We have received a lot of positive comments since its launch over the weekend.
Strange but true. I was watching the morning news on TV Tuesday morning and a feeling came to me that it was going to be a day when something bad was going to happen locally. I get to work and within an hour, the police scanner announced the house fire on Logan Road. Within minutes, my co-worker, Steve Edwards, said he would get to the scene with his camera, as no reporters had reported to work yet. Thank you, Steve, for your contribution and dedication. Let’s hope the victims can salvage many of their belongings and their residence.
