“Between Two Worlds” - (NR; 1 hour, 47 minutes – in French with English subtitles) - Famed author Marianne Winckler (Juliette Binoche) goes undercover to investigate the exploitation of the working class in Northern France. She eventually lands a job as a cleaner on the cross-channel ferry and develops close connections with the other cleaning women, many of whom have extremely limited resources and income opportunities. As she learns more about the plight of these workers, Marianne struggles with her deception towards them and tries to rationalize that it’s for the greater good. Final showtimes on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 2 and 7 p.m.
“Golda” - (PG-13; 1 hour, 40 minutes) - “Golda” is a ticking-clock thriller set during the tense 19 days of the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir (Helen Mirren), faced with the potential of Israel’s complete destruction, must navigate overwhelming odds, a skeptical cabinet, and a complex relationship with US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger (Liev Schreiber), with millions of lives in the balance. Her tough leadership and compassion would ultimately decide the fate of her nation and leave her with a controversial legacy around the world. Plays at 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29; Saturday, Sept. 30 and Wednesday, Oct. 4; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1 and Thursday, Oct. 5.
Season Six of the Classic Film Club - The “Legends & Lovers “ of Hollywood - There’s still time to enroll in Lincoln Theater’s Classic Film Club, celebrating the “Legends and Lovers” of Hollywood. Host and Film Historian, Jeannie MacDonald, will take us on a journey through these classic couples over six films playing each month, October thru March. Enrollment at $55 per person includes admission to all six screenings, free popcorn, and a free beverage from the bar or concessions. This season’s lineup includes, “It Happened One Night,” “Roman Holiday,” “The Adventures of Robin Hood,” “To Have and Have Not,” “The Bad and the Beautiful,” and “Casablanca.” Information on enrollment is available at www.LincolnTheater.net or by grabbing a Classic Film Club brochure, available at the theater.
“It Happened One Night” - (1934; 1 hour, 45 minutes) - Please join us for “It Happened One Night,” the first film in season 6 of Lincoln Theater’s Classic Film Club celebrating the Legends & Lovers of Hollywood. Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert star in Frank Capra’s legendary rom-com, the first film to win Oscars for Best Picture, Actor, Actress, Screenplay and Director. Colbert plays Ellie Andrews, a spoiled heiress whose impetuous marriage leads her rich father to hold her hostage on his yacht. After Ellie jumps ship, a newspaperman (Gable) offers to help Ellie reunite with her husband in exchange for her exclusive story…but they find themselves falling in love instead. Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m.
