Well-deserved, Nancy Roby; welcome back, racers, fans
You can't find Wiscasset’s Nancy Roby on our pages every week, but few consecutive editions seem to go by without her in a photo.
Roby isn't photo-bombing, although with her good cheer and fast smile, she would be good at it. And she has ample opportunity. She’s at local events, taking part and usually helping pull them off, like some other area residents, seeking no credit, just a good outcome for a cause and a nice time for all. Roby’s a doer. And she's nearly always smiling or laughing when we take her picture, maybe in part because we got her again.
Kudos to Wiscasset Area Chamber of Commerce for giving Roby its lifetime achievement award for her longtime efforts helping the community. It's well-deserved and the basis for one of two Phil Di Vece photos of her in this week's paper. Got you again, Nancy, twice this week.

Saturdays once again find trucks hauling race cars to Wiscasset Speedway. It’s nice to see the vehicles and crews line the pits again and to see a parking lot fill up like the speedway's does. What a good sign spring is under way and summer will be along.
Thanks, Richard and Vanessa Jordan for buying the track at auction, cleaning it up and keeping it going. Yes, it takes many hands and the fans, but the track's latest life started with the Jordans' decision to give it a go and has continued with their choice each year to do it again.
Welcome back to everyone who chooses to spend their Saturday at the track or elsewhere in our towns. There's a lot to take in and now, at last, the milder weather to go with it. After a series of false starts in the weather department, ladies and gentlemen, start your spring.
