Woolwich man stabbed in West Bath
A Woolwich man is recovering from a knife wound to the neck, according to a press release from the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office. The man was stabbed while visiting a relative in West Bath Dec. 26, according to the release.
Clancy Morton, 32, was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was in stable condition, the release stated.
Morton was visiting a relative at Green Acres Estates on New Meadows Road late at night when two acquaintances of his relative arrived at the apartment. Sheriff Joel Merry said, Morton and the two acquaintances argued, and the fight turned physical and Morton was stabbed in the neck, Merry said. The two acquaintances fled the scene before deputies arrived.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details are being withheld. However, Merry said there is no threat to the public since all the parties involved appeared to know one another.
