Tonya M. Baldwin
Tonya Michelle Baldwin, 47, of Boothbay died Dec. 24, 2022 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Tonya was born Dec. 20, 1975 in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Michael Cheek and Pamela Gertrude Burney. Tonya grew up in a military family and lived in several places including Colorado and Alaska. Tonya and her family settled in Vermont. She graduated from Green Mountain Union High School in Chester, Vermont and graduated from University of Vermont with a B.S. degree in psychology.
Tonya worked in the hospitality industry in Maine for many years. She made great lifelong connections while working at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport. In the early 2000s, Tonya moved to Boothbay Harbor where she made her permanent home.
Tonya was an enthusiastic person who loved her family and taking care of others. She enjoyed having a good time and loved to be the life of the party. She also loved dogs, watching NFL games, listening to music, taking care of her house plants, and watching “cheesy” crime dramas.
She was predeceased by her mother, Pamela Ramirez; grandparents, Harrison Burney II and Darkis Burney; aunts, Fonda Keith and Allie “Sooky” Cole; uncle, Harrison “Pete” Burney III.
She is survived by her two beautiful children, Brady and Violet Baldwin; her brother, Nelson Ramirez II; and a large extended network of family and friends.
A service to celebrate Tonya’s life will be held Saturday, Jan. 7 at Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay with Lynn Martin officiating.
