Once an Outlaw, featuring Chris Anderson of the Outlaws with special guest Jon Butcher, is coming to the Boothbay Opera House on Sunday July 2. This show brings a new and exciting line up every time. In the past, the lineup has included Chris Hicks of the Marshall Tucker Band, Jeff Howell (Foghat/Outlaws), members of the Allman Brothers Band, Dickie Betts Band, and the Outlaws to name a few.
The core group remains the same with powerhouse guitarist/vocalist Chris Anderson (formerly of the Outlaws), guitar slinger Chuck Farrell who played the Opera House last fall with the James Montgomery Band, and AJ Vallee from Night of Queen. The group also includes Wally "Gator" Sirotich (Coasters, Gregg Allman, Toler Brothers) and Tim Archibald (Barry Goudreau Band (Boston)/Skunk Baxter and Michael McDonald).
Frontman Anderson is a renowned vocalist and powerhouse guitar driven blues/southern rocker. He’s worked/toured with (to name just a few) Lucinda Williams, Lynard Skynard, Bad Company, Hank Williams Jr., Stephen Stills and Warren Haynes.
Opening the show will be guitarist Jon Butcher best known for his band The Jon Butcher Axis which toured throughout the 80s and 90s with Boston, J Geils Band, Aerosmith, and the Scorpions to name just a few. Butcher is also known as the Grammy nominated guitarist/vocalist featured in Jeff Beck’s “Ambitious” video and on the Experience Hendrix Tour. Jon Butcher’s discography includes 16 album releases on Capitol Records, Polydor, Sony Music, Blues Bureau over the course of his 40-year music career.
