John M. Jarrett
John Michael Jarrett, age 70, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on Aug. 16, 2023. Known by friends as Michael or Mike, he was born on April 13, 1953, to parents John and Anne (Hicks) Jarrett in Shelby, North Carolina.
Michael grew up in North Carolina and moved to the Northeast in his twenties after falling in love with the Boothbay area. He grew to be a talented mason by trade and an avid fisherman, fishing for tuna and diving for scallops off the coast of Boothbay Harbor for many years. He left a lasting impression on the people around him and will be missed by many.
Michael is survived by his daughter Audrey Jarrett and fiancé Conor Alexander, and his grandson Magnus Alexander, of Appleton, Maine; brother Bruce Jarrett of Clemson, South Carolina; half-brother Blair Beam of Calabash, North Carolina; half-sister Diane Muhundro of Huntersville, North Carolina; half-sister Martha Summers of Cornelius, North Carolina; and stepbrothers Kyle Beam of Charlotte, North Carolina; Mark Beam of Cherryville, North Carolina; and stepsister Robin Cox of Cherryville, North Carolina.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be planned for this fall in Boothbay Harbor.
