What in the world is going on with these budgets? Residents of Wiscasset have been asleep at the wheel. How can these budgets be real?

A million dollar Parks and Recreation budget.

Just shy of a million dollar EMS budget.

Over 1 million combined Public Works/Transfer Station budgets.

The huge jump in the Police Department budget.

Some will say these departments’ budgets aren't that big. Well, yes they are. To counter the big expense a dream number of magical money is called revenue. The magic trick lowers the expense artificially.

Time to get real. Departments that create revenue must be accountable. Time to make them self sufficient.
