Weekend accident in Edgecomb sends two to hospital
On Saturday, Nov. 19, an accident occurred on Route One in Edgecomb involving Alison M. Cook, 21, of East Boothbay, and Randy L. Lester, 61, of Boothbay, authorities said. Cook was making a left turn from Eddy Road onto Route One, when she failed the yield the right of way, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. She pulled her 2011 Toyota Camry into the path of Lester, who was driving his 2009 Hyundai Sonata northbound on Route One.
Lester told law enforcement he swerved to try to miss Cook’s vehicle, but was unable to, and the vehicles collided.
In addition to the sheriff’s office, Edgecomb Fire Department and CLC ambulance responded. Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Deputy Aaron Beck of LCSO was the investigating officer.
