Sheriff’s Office releases statement on Lincoln Academy incident
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office released the following media alert Friday:
This afternoon the following statement was released from the administration at Lincoln Academy:
“Please be assured, and do your best to assure your son or daughter (or both) that we were and are as safe here today as we are on any other day. Rumors you may have heard have been thoroughly investigated by administration and our School Resource Officer, Deputy Chad Gilbert, with the knowledge and support of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. The investigation, if necessary, will continue. I would like to reiterate that we do not have additional safety concerns here at school–Andy Mullin”
This statement follows a report today of threatening statements allegedly made by a student the previous day. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this matter and concur with the school administration’s assessment of this situation.
