Walpole shooting under investigation
One person was being treated at Maine Medical Center in Portland after being shot in Walpole Friday, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Brendan Kane said Saturday.
The injuries are non-life-threatening, Kane said in a phone interview. No names are being released yet and no one has been charged, he said.
In a reply earlier Saturday to the Wiscasset Newspaper’s email request for information, Kane stated the Sheriff’s Office responded to Clark’s Cove Road March 9 for a reported shooting.
“The event has been contained and there is no continued public safety threat at this time. All parties have been identified and sheriff’s deputies and detectives continue to investigate,” Kane wrote.
Kane said in the interview CLC Ambulance and South Bristol Fire Department and First Responders also responded to the incident.
