UPDATED: Arrest made in Bristol bank robbery
UPDATE: At approximately 9:30 p.m. Monday, detectives from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office arrested a Waldoboro woman for the robbery of the Damariscotta Bank and Trust in Bristol Monday morning.
April Blake, 46, was arrested and charged with robbery. Acting on an anonymous tip received via L-tip, detectives interviewed Blake at her home where she allegedly admitted to the offense.
Authorities seized cash from Blake's home. Blake was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset where she is being held pending a court appearance.
Original post: At 9:42 a.m. Monday, April 2, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported bank robbery that had just occurred at the Bristol branch of Damariscotta Bank and Trust at 2578 Bristol Road, next door to C.E. Reilly and Son Grocery.
The suspect, described as a white female, 35-40 years old, with reddish-brown shoulder length hair, approximately 5’5” tall and 200 pounds, was last seen wearing blue pants, sneakers and a light-colored coat over a blue hooded sweatshirt. The suspect left in an unknown direction and may be driving a red 2000’s Chevrolet extended cab pickup.
No weapon was displayed and no one was hurt in the incident. The amount of money stolen is not being released at this time. The Damariscotta Police Department and the K-9 unit of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office assisted LCSO.
